From the Mouth of Alexa

Alexa seems to always have us laughing, even Hannah.  Even at her young age, she is a bit of a ham through her words and her actions.  I have shared some of her funny comments, but here are some more to add to the list.

Definitions:
1.  Fuzz, Fuzzing, to Fuzz - the complete opposite of a scratch; soft, very gentle touch that may be done with the whole hand or just the fingers depending on what the receiver (Alexa) deems "careful" enough

2.  Nesslight - Yesterday

3.  Leftway - the opposite of the right way; wrong way

4.  Da-ee - Daddy

5.  Harvest Tweet - her favorite cereal, "Autumn Harvest" (I was calling it "Harvest Wheat" on accident so that is where her name came from.)

Conversations:
#1:  We were on our way to buy a present for a 3 year old's Birthday party when I had this conversation with her.:
Lexy:  What are we doing:
Me:  We are going to buy a Birthday present for Libby's Birthday party.
Lexy:  Why?
Me:  Because she is turning 3 like you last week and is having a Birthday party.
Lexy:  Oh!  So she is my friend.

#2:  We like to talk about the "Tickle Monster" sometimes, but a few weeks ago I mentioned the "Wiggle Wonster".  Alexa wasn't sure she heard me right so she said:
Alexa:  Tickle Monster???
Me:  No, the Wiggle Wonster.
Alexa:  That's strange!
: ) : ) : )

#3:  A couple months ago we were on our way home from a friends house and the girls were sharing a granola bar.  Hannah (age 6) has still not learned to completely control her emotions when she is tired and upset.  Therefore, when she dropped her granola bar on the floor of the van and Mommy was not going to get it for her, she was beyond unhappy.  She even tried to talk her little sister into giving her some, but to no avail.  After a couple minutes of putting up with Hannah's tears and drama, little sister Alexa, 2 at the time, had had enough.  As we drove past an "Adult Video" store (no I was not taking my kids where we should not be, just remember where I live and realize that it trickles all throughout the city) the following conversation began:
Alexa - (pointing at the Adult Video sign) Hannah, that sign says, "stop crying".
Hannah (who can read) - No it doesn't, it says "Video".
Alexa - No it doesn't!  It says, "stop crying."
Hannah - No, it says "Video".
(The conversation ended and I kept laughing. : )  Alexa does tend to have more emotional control than her big sister, for some reason.)

Funny Ways:
#1:  Last summer, Alexa and I discovered that our garage door could carry a 25 lb little girl off of the ground.  Ooops!  Thankfully I was near by and able to save her by the time her feet were about a foot off the ground, but I think she probably wanted to go a little higher. : )

#2:  Alexa LOVES toe jam!  Periodically she MUST clean between her toes and it must happen RIGHT then!

#3:  I have taught the girls some sign language and hope to continue to do so.  Well, today, while she was sitting on the potty going "#2"  she requested I teach her the sign for "poop."  I was able to accommodate after looking up the word "feces" on an on-line sign language dictionary.  The things we teach our kids! : )   Oh well, it is a fun one. : )  In fact, you can find it for yourself:

#4:  In the complexity of her little personality, is a very type A individual who must have everything "just so".  I still haven't figured out how that fits with her clown around, life is meant for living, personality, but God is her maker and He is AMAZING!!!!

Your girls are precious! I love Mommy blogs. It's a great way to enjoy each others children and the blessing of staying home with them. We all have those great stories to tell! Thanks for getting connected! I've been hearing about Scott and Matt stories for years.
