Such a Big Girl!

It is hard to believe that Hannah is already a Kindergardener! Where have the past 5 and a half years gone?!  She has grown and changed so much and at the same time, Matt and I have grown and changed too, as parents and individuals.  "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" (the Bible).  That verse is so true in all relationships, but I have grown to learn that it is most true in parenting and in marriage.  As if parenting alone wasn't enough to stretch and change me, the Lord led us to home-school Hannah (at least for Kindergarten).  What a joy and challenge this is for all of us.  But overall, I love it!  Having been a teacher in the past, I feel like home-schooling completes me more as a mom.  I have always felt like I was a better teacher than a mom, but now, I get to officially do both at the same time.  I am blessed! : )

I wanted to share some pictures with you of Hannah, from the past couple months.

The first day of school!
(Shoes are discouraged at our school unless the soles are clean.)

Our Classroom
(Yes, it is a closet.  But you do what you have to do and I must say, this works quite well for now!)

Hannah's creative tree climbing outfit that she created one day during free time.
(Since the trees are sparse around our neighborhood, she had to try it out on the stairs.  It worked quite well.)

Learning to play Baseball with her DidDid

Both girls have grown so much since I saw them last! That's great you are teaching Hannah yourself. We sent Emma to off to the local elementary school b/c we needed someone with more experience than we have. Kevin calls Emma's teacher the "Emma Whisperer" and we are really happy with the social and behavioral progress she's made. Love the photos!
